My pretty altar

Previously, I was begrudging at people that they decorate their home’s altar well. However, I’ve no more with such feeling after this Chinese New Year. Because, I also have a nice looking’s altar at my home.

Couple days before Chinese New Year, I was worrying on how decorate my altar because if really want change it become nicely, I have to pay lots. Plus I don’t have that much money for this year cause I’m less working and no more pocket money from parent. However, god didn’t disappointing me. Few days before New Year, I finally caught an idea. It totally cost me less than 50 ringgit. ;-)

First, I bought a box of 500ml’s mineral water to stack of the altar to put the Buddhist Statues. I have bought 2 meters of yellow cloth to decorate as the background and some as the stand for stack the Buddhist statues place. Then I asked Wei Kiat help me modified my lamp and set on the altar to provide with smooth light. Then did some flower arrangement at New Year eve. Then prepared a pair of bean pagoda and sweet pagoda. With all the things, I have changed my altar become nicer and prettier. Let check at my photo!!

By the way, do you know why normally a Buddhist normally needs flower, fruit, water, light and incense (or joss stick) for praying? Ya, it quite meaningful you know? Fruit in Chinese known as guo, guo also meant yin guo which is cause and effect. Meant what we done now and what will we receive and the end of life. Water is light, hope we can see in positive and clear, also can said use water to clean up our mind. Light meant light up our life, for example, light in the dark, brings us to right way. That meant show us walk to positive road. Incense, long ago was not using as praying stuff during last time. It use to drive of the insect while Buddha is giving talk to the devotees. It also uses to awake people. Now we use to awake ourselves from doing wrong.

Any comment or Buddhism thing that you want to share with me.. Please drop a message thank.
