Cake decoration competition at Bugis

21^st of July 2007, was dropped on Saturday. I and Wei Kiat have gone to Johor Bahru (the nearest city to Singapore in Malaysia) for chop my passport. Then we took bus back to Bugis again. When we were passing the Bugis Junction (we were plan back to Bedok), we were caught! Don’t worry, we are no arrested by police but we were caught by the MC there joining the cake decorating competition.

There were five groups been caught or selected for the competition, we were first group and every group was grouping of two people. We have named our group as “Noob” which meant foolish. This is because we are guys, sure will unable to compare with girls, plus we do not have any on stage competition experience. We were guessed sure we will lost to other groups. We however just were joining by normal feeling which just for fun and enjoying the process.

The material that provided were a sponge cake, some icing cream, some decoration like cartoon, the logo, peanuts and chocolate rice. We were given 10 minutes to completing the decoration on the cake. That was not much time for me to care how is the process for other group, what I think is how I should decorate.

10 minutes passed with fast and we finally done our work. Three groups have been announced and there left only our group and the second group called “creative”. That was the very tension moment that we had on the stage. Finally the winner were come out, was the second group. We were just the first runner out. All us were given same thing which are a pack of relax essence, a Bugis Junction key chain, and a wallet. (I’m not sure should it called as wallet or not), but the winners were given a bottle of sparkling drink each.

Before us home, we were given the cake that we decorate back. Even we were just less 5 marks than the winner group (90 marks), but we were happy because we have gained a great experience and a great weekend.
